Hideous Truth is a rules-light system for cosmic horror roleplaying games based on Graham Walmsley’s Cthulhu Dark. Although that game produces the purest experience for telling Lovecraftian stories, it strips out specialized rules for combat, chases, and the other pulse-pounding action sequences that punctuated the classic weird tales. Hideous Truth takes a stab at creating fight or flight scenes that stay true to the genre’s penchant for desperate protagonists outmatched by mythic terrors.
